Castlegar hike to Lt. Dan
The largest Ponderosa Pine in BC

Hike with biologist Matt Casselman of Kootenay Forest Watch and SaveCaiCreek.com to Lt. Dan at Cai Creek near Castlegar. This is the largest known Ponderosa Pine in BC.

Hike up to the viewpoint on the bluffs and check out the elk habitat on the lower bench. This is a legit hike, with an 400 m elevation gain at a steep grade, similar to Pulpit. Know your ability and plan accordingly.
